About the Webinar

Therapeutic inertia and poor adherence continue to limit optimal outcomes in patients with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). Traditional care models often fall short in addressing the complex behavioural, clinical, and systemic barriers faced by these patients.

ACT T2D – Episode 5 provides an overview on the role on single-pill combination in diabetes management, including their impact on adherence, glycemic control, and treatment discontinuation, while reviewing current guideline recommandations and highliting patient-centered strategies to optimize the use of SPCs in routine clinical practice. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how single‑pill combinations (SPCs) can address therapeutic inertia and support earlier treatment optimisation in T2D
  • Identify patient- and system-level barriers to adherence and persistence (e.g., pill burden, complexity, discontinuation) in people living with T2D, especially in complex profiles
  • Interpret the available evidence on SPCs in diabetes management, including their potential impact on adherence and glycaemic outcomes
  • Apply practical, patient‑centred strategies to integrate SPCs into routine care, using guideline‑aligned decision-making and shared decision discussions.
